About Us

Newcastle Astronomical Society Inc. is a social group of amateur space enthusiasts in Australia. We have many active members in Astronomy and Astrophotography.

The society meets at the University of Newcastle on the first Friday of the month (except January), in Room CT202 at 7.00pm. The meetings usually go for two hours. We then have a light supper and a cuppa. The doors close at 10pm.

Our viewing night is at Speers Point Park at the western end near the MAPS Building the night after the meeting (Saturday).

Occasional viewing nights at Honeysuckle when the moon and the weather is permitting.

Check the Events page for details about Viewing Nights.
